In this time of rising anti-Semitism, it is important to remember that the horrors of the Holocaust occurred not that long ago. Though Jews were, by far, the largest population persecuted by the Nazis, other victims included Poles, Roma (Gypsies), Soviet prisoners of war, mentally and physically handicapped persons, homosexuals, and religious opponents of Nazism.
