Joan of Arc, a French farm girl, heard voices and saw visions of Saints Michael, Catherine and Margaret. They told her God wanted her to lead an army into battle, restore the crown to its rightful heir and drive the English from France. That sounds insane and amazing, but she did it. A seventeen year old girl convinced French forces that she was sent from God to help them. That alone speaks of her incredible courage and genuineness. Then, she cut her hair and dressed as a man, (just to avoid being molested by her own army) and donned armor and a sword.
